For many years the RSC presents at a ceremony in April the annual Theodore Roosevelt American History Award for the best MA thesis on an American history topic. Each of the five MA programs in American Studies at the Dutch universities select their best MA theses written and defended in the preceding academic year. An independent jury selects the best thesis and the winner is offered a trip to New York where he/she is hosted by the Theodore Roosevelt Assocation (sponsor of the prize) and the Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt Institute and during a program of several days visits a number of Theodore, Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt sites in the New York area. The 2013 ceremony of the TRAHA is on April 12.
