New Digital Collections Available
Thousands of documents on Dutch-American relations are now available to consult online.
One of the RIAS's primary objectives is to act as a repository for historical materials relating to shared history of the Netherlands and the United States of America. Our library contains extensive collections relating to Dutch-American diplomacy, trade, migration, and cultural interactions, from the eighteenth century to the twentieth.
Now, thanks to the cooperation of the RIAS and Brill Publishing, these documents are now also available to consult in digital form, compiled as the collection "Transatlantic Relations Online: Digital Archives of the Roosevelt Instiutute for American Studies." This new digital archive combines the following RIAS collections:
- Dutch-American Diplomatic Relations
- The Henry van Stekelenburg Collection (Dutch-Catholic Emigration to the Americas)
- The Stallinga-Ganzevoort Collection (Dutch-Protestant Emigration to the Americas)
These collections can now be accessed from any subscribing library. In addition, visitors to the RIAS library will have free access to these materials in digital form!
