As a diplomat and public speaker, Eleanor Roosevelt helped shape not only the United States but also the United Nations and the path we still follow toward the greater protection of human rights.
During this special event, we are especially honored to be joined by Ms. Yoka Brandt, Permanent Representative of the Netherlands to the United Nations and Ms. Allida M. Black, Distinguished Visiting Scholar at the Miller Center for Public Affairs, trustee of the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Editor Emeritus of the Eleanor Roosevelt Papers Project, who will discuss the role that Eleanor Roosevelt played in negotiating and promoting human and women’s rights within the United Nations, and touch upon the challenges that remain in making Eleanor’s vision a reality.
The symposium will be held on 15 October 2021 and it starts 06:00 PM.
