On Friday 30 October 2020, Liam Kennedy, Professor of American Studies and Director of the Clinton Institute for American Studies at University College Dublin, delivered an online lecture on “Trump’s America,” prior to the US elections.
The Trump presidency has delivered a seismic shock to the American political system and more broadly to political culture and the public sphere in the US and beyond, given the influence of the US across the world.
This lecture discusses the shockwaves – including their impact on the presidential election – and asks if Trumpism will outlast Trump.
The lecture was recorded and can be played here.
